Cut and paste – Ceren Bulbun

Instagram isn’t only a social network where fashion bloggers and influencers pouring us everyday their meals or latest purchase, it is also a platform where you can find real 2.0 artists and Cereal Bulbun is surely one of them.

This turkish artist uses the traditional art of collage in a very innovative way: she mixes natural phenomenon or mother nature creations with human anatomy and our body details, like the veins in our eyes that resemble a red striated marble or violet eyelid that remembers a purple galaxy.

She made a lot of collages combining different pictures from different worlds, the human one and the nature one, where we live but where, sometimes, we forget to extist.

The connection between nature and human body is something that philosophers and writers loved to discuss about, and Bulbun made it through the way of collages. So an erupting volcano is linked to a smoking mouth, ice creams’ balls become new planets, a pink sky is merged with a pastel closed eye.

Everything from this visionary world is linked with a subtle connection where human are not the centre, but also galaxies and nature, all united in an only thing, a new form of world, a dystopia where the surreal is the normal and where the normal is, for sure, abolished in virtue of freedom and the concept of union.
