Dariana Chem is an artist from Saint-Petersburg, Russia. Today she’s sharing with us a photo project called “The Thumbelina’20”, made during quarantine.
Dariana Chem says ” This is a story about feeling the one experiences when being home alone, self-isolated. When the doors are locked, you feel cut off from the world and from people. Everything is changing and you are shrinking to fit in the new limited space. You become tiny and fragile. Home is the only comfortable place you have left.”
In her work, Dariana can climb on flowerbeds and enjoy the smell of fresh petals. She can hide from her fears in leaves and she can grow mysterious herbs of all shapes and colors, because it’s a blossoming garden of her fantasy.
