Digital Paint – Luca Boni

Italian illustrator and freelance artist Luca Boni is a pleasant discover I’ve made in these days: his illustrations are made by a sort of digital paint, something that makes his art an halfway between a traditional painting and a graphic illustration from the future, an exquisite hybrid in a style that reminds me of Picasso.

His hand is strong, creates vectorial lines that reminds of pixels, but all becomes real with the colour blocking and the vague expressions of the faces he represents in his subjects, all humans static in a movement or in the motionless reality they’re living it, freezed in a moment that will never change.

His illustrations are profound, hiding this meaning of what humanity can be and what we really are over the surface of brilliant colours and digital techniques, creating a new brave world.
