David Catalán presenting the SS20 collection during Milan Fashion Week.
David Catalán, founder, creative director and main designer, creates clothes inspired by the modern culture, with sporty silhouettes and overlap of layers. All of this is combined together with an innovative character in search of new techniques and creation of new materials.
Since 2014 he presents his collections in EGO from Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid, receiving the Fashion Talent Award with his debut collection. Since then, the collections were presented in international runway shows such as Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Istanbul and Altaroma with the support of Portugal Fashion.
It’s in the grunge movement, leaded by Nirvana, that the David Catalán’s SS20 NOT FINISHED Collectioninspiration lies.
What would the 90s have been like without Kurt Cobain? In the aftermath of an oil crisis in the 1980s and at the beginning of a new decade with wars spread-out around the globe, the American musician was one of the main diffusors of a progressive and pacifist message, which gathered legions of fans.
The designer continues his interpretation of the men’s streetwear, elaborating it in a sporty accent. The chromatic palette includes black, white and shades of blue, red and green. There are also various references to the motorcycle culture, such as denim and graphic colors and cuts.
